The Foundation of Learning is Built at Home

Learning doesn't start the first day of school - it starts the first day of life. It's all about the brain. The majority of organs are fully developed at birth and will function as they are for the rest of our lives. The brain, however, is underdeveloped at birth and absolutely dependent on what it encounters. 80 to 85% of brain growth occurs within the first 3 years of life.

Language is food for the developing brain. Early language stimulation has an educational impact. Words have power and the way you talk to your child will impact their vocabulary, literacy, math, behavior, stress management, perseverance, and behavior.

Studies show that the parent/child relationship during these critical early years is the most important factor in future academic success. You are the chief architect of your baby's brain. So, stop texting and start talking! Use lots of praise, provide explanations, and use open-ended questions. Smile, laugh, and enjoy free play with your baby. Remember, babies aren't born smart, they're made smart!
