Your Little Explorer

Do you have a little explorer at home? Exploring is the way infants and toddlers learn. It is important that you prepare safe places where your baby can explore and learn new skills. This will help them become more curious and confident. Creating safe places to explore will also allow you to relax and enjoy your time with your child.

Create safe places to explore before your baby starts to roll over and crawl. Crawl around the house at baby's level to see what you need to do to make your house safer. Do you need to move an electric cable? Fix a piece of furniture to the wall? Move an ornament? Store cleaning fluids somewhere else? You have to consider everything for the safety of your little explorer. Stay close to your baby and encourage them to explore the spaces and toys around them.

When your child begins to walk, he will want to touch, climb, and open cabinets and drawers. Be patient and help him learn what is safe and what is not. Prepare spaces where all things are safe to be touched to give your child independence. Give your child new things each day to explore. As he explores, your child will learn to trust himself and the world around him.
